Goin' To The Disco by The Players Association 1977 -On CD Born to DanceVanguard Records VMD 79398 Chris
Hill's New York based band. It was a purely disco band, but gained popularity on
the 80's Rare Groove scene, so now their albums are depressingly expensive. It
makes me want to cry. But instead, listen for any song on any of their albums -
from "Born to dance" try "Goin' to the disco", "Make it
last all night", "Disco inferno" and the brilliant "We were
born to dance". From "Turn the music up" try the great title
track and "Ride the groove". The Players Association: Chris Hills (drums, vocals, keyboards, bass, synthesizer), Michael Brecker (tenor saxophone, lyricon), David Sanborn (alto saxophone), Joe Faddis (trumpet), Wayne Andre (trombone), Mike Mandel (synthesizer), L. Leon Pendarvis (keyboards), Freddie Harris (guitar), Steve Khan (guitar), Danny Trifan (bass), Nicky Marrero (congas), M'Tume (congas), David Earle Johnson (congas, timbales, percussion), Lorraine Moore (vocals), Ed "Easy" Zant (vocals on "How Do You Like It").
