You Gave Me Love by Crown Heights Affair1980 - On the CD The Best of Crown Heights Affair Striking Gold De-Lite recordings Another excellent disco-styled band. Originally on the RCA label, they
recorded the LP "Crown Heights Affair" in 1974 - listen for
"Streakin'", an early disco dancefloor classic. Switching to the
De-lite label in 1975, they recorded the especially memorable "Foxy
lady" (good wah-wah's) and the wah-wah guitar disco classic
"Dancin'", which set the precedent for many disco songs of the late
70's. Next, to the Mercury label; they recorded the charting hits "Galaxy
of love", "I'm gonna love you forever" and the classic
"Dance lady dance". If you don't know what THE disco beat sounds like,
it's a toss up as to whether you listen to this last song or Donna Summer's
"Love to love you baby". They next released two further dancefloor
classics of the early 80's, "You gave me love" and "You've been
gone", the former being sampled by other bands in the 80's. SUGGESTED DISCOGRAPHY
